APB x Air Jordan 11 Low – Made for Locals
October 26, 2026 | Category: Ward 1 Sneakers

APB x Air Jordan 11 Low
The APB x Air Jordan 11 Low “Made for Locals” takes one of Jordan Brand’s most recognizable silhouettes and gives it a more personal point of view. The collaboration celebrates the places and people that make a neighborhood feel like home.
APB’s interpretation arrives in a deep Binary Blue, a rich shade that covers the shoe’s premium leather upper and glossy patent-leather mudguard. A Rust Pink piping detail traces the entire upper, creating a warm contrast against the blue and bringing an unexpected softness to the otherwise bold design. The look is completed by a pale pink sockliner, alternate laces, and the icy translucent outsole that has long been part of the Air Jordan 11’s visual language.
“Made for Locals” is the key to the story. The name recognizes the corner stores, skate spots, coffee shops, barbershops, and independent retailers that help define a city block by block. These are the places where taste is built, friendships form, and a pair of sneakers can become part of someone’s personal history.
That sense of community gives the collaboration its appeal. The blue and pink palette is distinctive without being flashy, and the familiar Jordan 11 construction keeps it grounded in the model’s legacy. It is a shoe that feels collectible, but not untouchable—designed to stand out in a rotation while still carrying the ease of a daily pair.
The APB x Air Jordan 11 Low “Made for Locals” is a reminder that the best sneaker stories are not always about the biggest stage. Sometimes, they begin closer to home.

Air Jordan 1 High OG – Royal
October 18, 2026 | Category: Ward 1 Sneakers

Air Jordan 1 High OG – Royal
Few sneakers carry the weight of the Air Jordan 1 “Royal.” First introduced in 1985, its black, white, and royal-blue color blocking helped establish the formula for an icon: sharp contrast, uncomplicated materials, and a silhouette that looked as natural on the street as it did on the court.
The 2026 Air Jordan 1 High OG brings that original energy back into focus. Black leather anchors the upper, while Game Royal lands on the toe box, heel, collar, outsole, and unmistakable Swoosh. A clean white midsole provides the break between them, preserving the balance that has made this colorway a favorite for more than four decades. The high-cut collar, perforated toe, Wings logo, and Nike Air tongue tag all reinforce the connection to the model that began the Jordan legacy.
Air Jordan 1 High – Royal OG’s are proof that timeless sneakers do not need reinventing, they just need to return with the details that made them matter in the first place.

Smashing Pumpkins – Rats in a Cage Tour
October 15, 2026 | Category: Concerts

Smashing Pumpkins Bring Mellon Collie Home at United Center
The Smashing Pumpkins returned home to Chicago on Wednesday night with a performance built for both memory and magnitude.
At the United Center, Billy Corgan and company brought their Rats in a Cage Tour to the band’s hometown for a nearly three-hour show centered on the 30th anniversary of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. The result was more than a greatest-hits concert. It was an ambitious, theatrical celebration of one of alternative rock’s defining albums—and a reminder of just how expansive the Pumpkins’ catalog remains.
The evening was divided into two distinct sets. The first belonged entirely to Mellon Collie, opening with “1979” and moving through a generous selection of fan favorites, deep cuts, and emotional centerpieces. “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” “Tonight, Tonight,” “Zero,” “Muzzle,” and “Thirty-Three” all landed with the kind of weight that only comes from hearing songs tied to decades of personal history played in the city where the band began.
But the deeper album tracks gave the show its real sense of occasion. “Porcelina of the Vast Oceans,” “Galapogos,” “Here Is No Why,” “To Forgive,” and “By Starlight” turned the first half into a true album-era immersion rather than a nostalgia exercise. The band closed the set with the album’s title track, a fitting pause before intermission.
The second set broadened the lens. It shifted from the dense world of Mellon Collie into a career-spanning showcase that mixed staples with more recent material and heavier selections from the band’s catalog. “Disarm,” “Ava Adore,” “Mayonaise,” “Today,” and “Cherub Rock” supplied the familiar sing-along moments, while songs such as “Edin,” “Pentagrams,” “War Dreams of Itself,” and “The Everlasting Gaze” demonstrated that the Pumpkins remain interested in looking forward as well as back.
There was room for theatricality, too. An alternate version of “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” and an extended instrumental passage during “Superchrist” gave the show additional texture, while the full-scale production reinforced the feeling that this was designed as a hometown event rather than just another date on the calendar.
For Chicago fans, the night carried an added resonance. The Smashing Pumpkins have always been inseparable from the city’s music identity, and hearing the songs of Mellon Collie fill the United Center made that connection feel especially vivid. Thirty years after the album helped define an era, its scope, melancholy, and power remain intact.
Wednesday’s show was not simply a trip through the past. It was a statement that the Smashing Pumpkins’ story still has room for reinvention, noise, beauty, and a little bit of chaos.

Chicago Bears vs New York Jets
October 5, 2026 | Category: Sports

Bears ground Jets, ride momentum to 23–12 victory
On a picture-perfect Chicago fall afternoon at Soldier Field, the Bears played the kind of football that feels especially right this time of year: physical, patient, and relentlessly effective.
Chicago’s 23–12 victory over the New York Jets was not a highlight-reel shootout. It was better—a full afternoon of control. The Bears ran when they wanted to run, moved the chains at will, and kept the Jets’ offense watching from the sideline for long stretches. The win moved Chicago to 3–1 and offered another encouraging sign that this team is developing a dependable identity.
The tone was established early. After the Jets held firm on a fourth-down stop near the goal line on Chicago’s opening possession, the Bears stayed aggressive. Running back Kyle Monangai eventually found the end zone on a goal-line carry, giving Chicago a lead it would never surrender. Monangai was the unquestioned star of the afternoon, powering through the Jets for 146 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 30 carries.
It was a performance built on stamina as much as strength. Monangai kept falling forward, extending drives and wearing down a Jets defense that spent far too much of the game on the field. By the final whistle, the Bears had amassed 232 rushing yards and controlled possession for an astonishing 42 minutes, 45 seconds.
Tyson Bagent also made the most of his opportunity in his first start since 2023. He was composed, efficient, and willing to take what the defense offered, throwing for 239 yards while helping Chicago maintain its rhythm throughout the day. The Bears did not need him to play hero ball; they needed him to keep the offense moving, and he did exactly that.
The numbers underline just how complete the effort was. Chicago finished with a 492–157 advantage in total yards, recorded 34 first downs, and ran 89 plays. The Bears did not punt once—an extraordinary reflection of how consistently they controlled the line of scrimmage and avoided self-inflicted setbacks.
New York did create a few tense moments. The Jets forced two turnovers, including an interception and a fumble, and cut the score to 13–6 in the third quarter after a short field. But Chicago answered with another Monangai touchdown drive, then added a Cairo Santos field goal to push the lead to 23–6.
The Jets’ lone touchdown came late, on a 58-yard pass from Geno Smith to Isaiah Williams, but the missed extra point ensured there would be no real late-game drama. Chicago’s defense again limited the opposition to one touchdown, continuing a trend that has become one of the team’s early-season strengths.
The next test arrives quickly: a road trip to Green Bay. But for one golden October afternoon on the lakefront, the Bears gave their fans plenty to savor—crisp air, a bruising ground game, and a victory that looked every bit like Bears football.
