Sneaker Bar Detroit’s story made me realize I have never shot any of my Air Jordan Countdown Packs, so I figured I would start uploading a few of them.

The Air Jordan Retro Countdown Package 2 / 21 (Black / Metallic Silver – Varsity Red) were released on April 26, 2008 and retailed for $310 along with the Air Jordan 2 (II) Retro – Countdown Package 2 / 21 (White / Varsity Red). They feature an all black suede construction along with red accents, including red piping along the side panels. Like the original Air Jordan 18 (XVIII) models, they consist of specifications such as an extended heel counter construction, carbon fiber shank plate, and Jordan Brand’s patented I.P.S. technology for better traction.

Inspired by one of the most celebrated and recognizable moments in UNC basketball history, the Nike Hyper Elite Dominance uniform pays tribute to the 1982 NCAA championship game when Michael Jordan hit a jumper from the wing with only 17 seconds remaining to put UNC on top 63-62, sealing the tournament championship. The uniform features the iconic Tar Heel logo and color-blocking worn by Michael Jordan and the rest of the 1982 team. With six national championships, more than 2,100 program wins, and an NCAA-leading 18 Final Four appearances, University of North Carolina sits firmly among the elite college basketball programs of all time. The program’s winning traditions and dedication to greatness has propelled alumni to the professional level; some of the game’s greatest players are Tar Heels. Nike.com

The third retro of the black cement Air Jordan III’s, this sneaker was nearly identical to the retro released in 1994 and the original released in 1988.
These still contained the beloved Nike Air logo on the heel plate, and was the last Air Jordan III
to sport it. Its mix of black tumbled leather and grey elephant print make this shoe one of the most popular of all-time.

Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.

In this context it seems so unlikely that he could have ever been left off the varsity squad,
but this is also why His Airness’ rise to immortality is so inspiring.

MJ worked hard to make sure nothing like that would ever happen again
and he parlayed his successes at Wilmington’s Laney High School into a full ride at UNC.

The Air Jordan 10 (X) Original (OG) – Charlotte Hornets (White / Black – Dark Powder Blue) was released November 1994, retailing for $125. They feature a simple design, with a white full- grain leather upper, black tongue, and black midsole. The tongue features an easy lacing system, which are usually a different color from the tongue, but is all black in this case. They are dubbed the Charlotte Hornets, as they are part of the “Cities Series”, and because of the powder blue colorway. The outsoles feature a striped design(powder blue, black), constructed from solid rubber which lists Jordan’s previous accomplishments. This was when Michael came back to the game, which surprised Nike, as they had already began releasing retros of the first three Air Jordan models.

1999 Air Jordan 4 • Retro OG

Air Jordan 4 1999 Retro

As stated earlier, the original release of the Air Jordan 4 White/Cement came in 1989, but in 1999 the Air Jordan 4 made a ferocious return as a retro. The ’99 release of the Air Jordan 4 reinvigorated the retro market which saw everything but success back in 1994 and 1995. For years, the White/Cement Air Jordan 4s were sought after by collectors, Jordan fans, and sneakerheads for its iconic style and true-to-the-original branding. With age, the midsoles deteriorate on the Air Jordan 4 White/Cement, but hundreds of collectors have commissioned sneaker restorers to “resole” the shoes with new midsole/outsoles giving new life to an old classic. The Black and Red color scheme is one of the OG colorways, featuring black nubuck paneling throughout the upper. Cement Grey and Red accents are exactly like the original release, even down to the NIKE AIR on the back heel tab.
