Nike SB x Air Jordan 4

April 21, 2025 | Category: Ward 1 Sneakers

Kickflips and tailslides. Dimes and dunks. Nike SB and Jordan. Some things just go better together. The Nike SB x AJ4 honors one of the greatest duos to play the sneaker game: Sandy Bodecker (it isn’t called Nike SB for nothing) and the legendary designer Tinker Hatfield. They created a buzzer-beating icon that not only propelled MJ along on his journey, but transcended basketball—altering pop and street culture forever.

Nike SB and Jordan join forces again to tweak the AJ4 design, so you can skate all day and land big tricks. It features the original ’89 shape around the toe box for an improved fit and a deconstructed upper with flexible plastic detailing. Nike Air in the heel lets you handle epic stair counts, and because grip matters, gum rubber on the outsole adds traction where you need it most.

They look good, too. Heritage color blocking nods to classic AJ4 style while Navy accents add the flavour du jour. Step on it—the wild ride continues.

BMX virtuoso Nigel Sylvester and Jordan Brand team up on this charged edition of the AJ4. In the worlds of sport, culture and philanthropy, the “Brick by Brick” colorway is a testament to Nigel’s belief in tenacity and progress. His commitment to push boundaries, make the tricks bigger and the world better inspired the fierce Firewood Orange leather upper. The Cinnabar underlays and accents pulse against the vibrant upper and a clean Sail midsole brings balance to the bold design. Staying true to the original AJ4 from ’89, it comes equipped with mesh-inspired details and floating eyestays. As a nod to Nigel’s passion, the traditional “Nike Air” heel logo is replaced with “Bike Air.” Lace up, build community and forge your own path.

Air Jordan 1 ’85 – Bred

April 7, 2025 | Category: Ward 1 Sneakers

The 2025 version of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High ’85 OG ‘Bred / Banned’ tries for a true OG look, keeping the high collar and wider toe box. The leather upper blends black and red panels on the toe, heel, collar and the Swoosh. The Wings logo adorns the collar, while a woven Nike Air tag graces the tongue. A traditional rubber cupsole with white sidewalls contrast the red outsole to wrap up the look.

The choice of the “Bred” colorway is particularly significant. Not just for its historical importance as Michael Jordan’s on-court sneaker that famously flouted the NBA’s uniform regulations, but also for its enduring appeal in the sneaker community. This version’s expected leather construction and authentic detailing will likely draw a strong response from long-time fans and new collectors.

The Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 “Bred” is set to release on February 14th during the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend festivities; the pair has a special connection to the weekend, as it was this very shoe that Michael Jordan wore during the 1985 NBA Dunk Contest.

Released in 1997 and retroed in 2003, 2009, and 2016, the fifth installment of the “Flu Game” Air Jordan 12 will mirror the OG with its signature black tumbled leather upper with its contrasting varsity red on the mudguard and outsole.

An all-time favorite among players and sneakerheads, the Air Jordan 12 Retro is made with encapsulated Air cushioning in the heel. The upper is a mix of genuine and synthetic leather and textile styled with distinct radial stitch lines.

The beloved AJ1 “Obsidian” returns in a low-cut silhouette. A full-grain leather design balances a clean mix of Obsidian and University Blue overlays against a smooth Sail backdrop. Rewinding the tape, this color scheme nods to MJ’s alma mater and his early days of flight. Nike Air branding and the Wings logo keep it true to the original.

Born out of the desire to have a place to showcase what the local community of kids were up to with music, art and fashion, as well as being a bridge to unique items from various parts of the world, Union first opened its doors in NYC back in 1989 on Spring Street in Soho. In short, it was the store that represented the fashion side of New York City’s youth and counter culture.

The Los Angeles shop followed soon after when Eddie Cruz (one of three original owners) decided to move west. Maintaining the same principles as the New York shop, Union LA embraced the creativity of fresh designers within the city and continued the hunt for cool shit coming out of countries like Japan and the UK.

Over 20 years later, Union continues to bring its customers a curated selection of up and coming designers mixed with off-the-beaten-path high-end brands from all over the globe. Union’s concept is simple (and we have stuck with it since day one): buy brands that we will wear ourselves and clothes that walk the line between fashion and function, avoiding the ‘costumey’ side of fashion by offering classics with a twist. The LA shop is now the only remaining door and is currently owned and operated by Chris Gibbs, who worked at the original NYC shop as a young’un.

Dark tunnels, hidden coves, mossy boulders that hide treasure, an explorer who unlocks secret passages. For Air Max 1 Low Poly ‘Adventure,’ reimagined these vivid digital worlds as sneaker details, starting with a referential low-poly gradient.

Both sides of the tongue label reference the era of inspiration — late 90s video games and the worlds they opened to us. A secret message hides on the sock liner — can you decipher its meaning? Here’s a hint: Load her up. A gum outsole grounds ‘Adventure,’ connecting the earthy tones of the shoe to the ground you’re exploring. E is for Everyone.

Air Jordan 3 – Lucky Shorts

February 28, 2025 | Category: Ward 1 Sneakers

Did you know MJ played damn near every game of his professional career while wearing a pair of practice shorts in a particular shade of blue under his regular uniform? Superstition’s a crazy thing, but who’s to say what works and what doesn’t?

The lore of MJ’s lucky shorts continues with this AJ3. Full-grain leather in Summit White mixes with Photon Dust suede overlays and Legend and Hydrogen Blue accents to pay homage to the shorts beneath the shorts. We’ve always thought it was the shoes, but maybe it was the shorts all along?

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Black Toe Reimagined’ throws it back to an OG sample colorway worn during Michael Jordan’s rookie photo shoot. These shoes have a white leather upper, accented by a black forefoot overlay, collar and Swoosh. Red pops make their way to the heel overlay and collar flap, stamped with an ‘Air Jordan’ wordmark replacing the classic Wings logo. A woven Nike Air tag adorns the tongue, while these sneakers sport a rubber cupsole, anchored by a red outsole.

Air Jordan 5 Reimagined

February 12, 2025 | Category: Ward 1 Sneakers

The AJ5 debuted in 1990 and launched a legacy of bringing reflective materials into the Air Jordan lineup. Nodding to the original design, the reflective tongue and Metallic Silver midsole accents flicker against the black nubuck upper. Some updated features on this “Reimagined” edition include lightened edges to spotlight the shoe’s iconic design lines, and white laces as an ode to how MJ wore the AJ5 on the court. And the original stitched “Nike Air” heel branding was swapped out for reflective heel branding instead. Staying true to Tinker Hatfield’s signature design, it still features the bump-out collar, shark-tooth midsole and a fierce stance inspired by MJ’s on-court dominance and high-flying style. Plus, it comes complete with a Fire Red Jumpman logo, translucent outsole and mesh-like side panels. This premium “Reimagined” edition awakens an icon and carries the legacy forward.
