Adidas surprised sneakerheads and Yeezy disciples with the news that this Saturday, yet another Yeezy Boost 350 will hit shelves—but only those owned by Adidas (both physical and digital—it is 2017). That means this time around, there are no raffles or Instagram contests to be won. Why would the athletic giant want to mess with a good thing? One reason might be that production of the Zebra colorway is a limited production run, meaning there aren’t enough pairs to stock all of Adidas’s third-party doors as well as their own. What it really means is that these will be harder to get than any other Yeezy Boost 350 V2 thus far, which only makes them more covetable.
For country music fans in Chicago, there’s no bigger event than the Country LakeShake Festival on Northerly Island. Headliners at this year’s fest include Thomas Rhett, Miranda Lambert and Rascal Flatts—you’ll also get to sing-along to “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” when Big & Rich show up on stage. In a city where most festivals tend to ignore country music, there’s no better hootenanny in town.
It was a day of surprise guests to kick off Country LakeShake festival at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island on Friday. Randy Houser, Big & Rich, and Thomas Rhett headlined by playing all of his big hits, “Die a Happy Man,” “Crash and Burn,” and “T-Shirt,” among others.
Though the band looked like a miniature diorama on the Goliath stage, five skyscraper-height screens magnified images of Hetfield, guitarist Kirk Hammett, drummer Lars Ulrich and bassist Robert Trujillo, making them appear larger than life for two full hours. The symbolism carried on with round-the-clock pyrotechnics, full-score fireworks, cinematic visuals and a Tetris stage with multiple ramps and glory platforms that gave meaning again to stadium shows.
The 2009 Jeep Wrangler has a dedicated following due to its excellent off-road performance, but in terms of daily driving, reviewers thought it can’t measure up to other 2009 compact SUVs. According to most critics, the Wrangler has a choppy highway ride with too-light steering. When it was new, reviewers said the Wrangler lacked acceleration off the line and passing power, even with a 3.8-liter V6 engine. Additionally, the Wrangler has the worst fuel economy ratings in the class along with terrible safety scores. Still, the Wrangler is one of the best off-road SUVs on the market.
