A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 4

November 26, 2022 | Category: Ward 1 Sneakers

A Ma Maniére X Air Jordan IV

This moment is inspired by the Black and Brown leaders changing the world from the heart of their community with purpose, passion and vision. Built on the value of consistent action being the only recipe for progress, a standard set by trailblazers committed to the tireless work generational change would take to be achieved, the A Ma Maniére Air Jordan IV draws on the promise of youth to be the catalysts for change, standing up in the face of adversity and divisiveness. Standing firm on our ethos of timelessness on a silhouette renowned for its impact and significance across time, this moment serves to bring a generation together to form a better future with hope and bravery in the face of doubt and uncertainty. This is about where we’re going – and the future depends on us all.

Air Jordan 1 • Retro High OG – Patent Bred

The legend continues, and what better way to spring into 2022 than with a fresh pair of Breds on your feet? Beginning December 30 2021, the Jumpman delivers a Jordan 1 Retro High OG that gets the black, white and Varsity Red “Patent” palette with a luxe patent-leather treatment. This sophisticated sneak gets a predominantly black treatment, which extends to the mudguards, quarter panels and throat. Black laces atop the nylon throat add to the elegance. A Varsity Red toebox speckled with ventilated holes ties in nicely with the heel counter, red side Swooshes and ankle overlay. A white outsole adds a bit of lightness sandwiched between upper and outsole, and Nike Air branding lands on the tongue tag and insoles, with a Swoosh on the classic rubber outsole. Originally conceived in the mid-1980s, the Air Jordan 1 High delivers serious style on and off the court all these years later. This patent leather rendition is a modern-day meditation on a Bred masterpiece.

No need to call for a ride, the AJ1 “Taxi” will get you where you need to go. Donning Taxi yellow on the toe, heel, and outsole against crisp Black overlays, this classic take on the shoe that launched MJ’s signature line looks right at home on your city’s streets. Premium leather, the woven tongue label, and a debossed Wings logo seal the deal.

Air Jordan 3 • Fire Red

It’s the return of a legend: The Tinker Hatfield design that solidified MJ’s relationship with Nike returns to its original 1988 form. Fire Red accents and cracked Black and Iron Grey leather on the toe and heel nod to the iconic release, while “NIKE AIR” written on the back brings true throwback appeal. Speaking of Air—you can count on the tried-and-true cushioning underfoot to keep you going.

Air Jordan 6 • Magnet and College Navy

MJ’s 6th signature shoe debuted during the 1990-91 season, and will always be remembered as what he wore when he won his first ring. This fresh take on the AJ6 brings you a subtle Magnet and College Navy colorway that nods to college hoops and makes summertime easy to style. Suede leather ups your off-court game while translucent accents on the outsole cool your every step.

Air Max 1 • Dirty Denim

The Air Max 1 “Dirty Denim” nods to the coveted 2003 drop that brought an aged-to-perfection look to the leader of the sneaker pack. Rough ’em up, wear ’em every day—the premium leather and washed denim get better with time. A Lemon Wash midsole boosts the vintage aesthetic while classic stitching along the mudguard and heel adds Americana flair. With this throwback look, worn well and well-worn have become one and the same.

Air Jordan 1 – Bleached Coral

The Air Jordan 1 and its OG makeups may be the pinnacle of retro MJ lore, but that doesn’t mean the timeless silhouette can’t receive a refresh. Covered in heritage Jordan Brand colors recalling past styles — like a Black Toe and Grey Fog lower heel with premium White underlays — the Air Jordan 1 “Bleached Coral” is a modern arrangement in makeup and placement. A pop of Bleached Coral showing off its “NIKE AIR” detail on the tongue brings a bit of seasonal color into a muted rotation.

Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 SP – Heavy

To celebrate 35 years of a sneaker icon, we drop our second Air Max 1 in festival fashion. In August of 1969, almost half a million festival goers made a trip to Bethel, NY and sent a message to the universe. They were dressed in the eclectic fashions of the time: faded denim, surplus fatigues (including M-65s and tiger camo), corduroy, and decorated with peaceful protest motifs. Jackets carried fringes, hair was decorated with flowers. The event concluded as a lasting symbol of ’60s counterculture. With the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 SP “Heavy,” we link the legacy of that August weekend to a lineage of radical youth expression. While the material mix is similar to the “Mellow,” it’s heavier. We’ve got denim, tiger camo and leather, and these three materials juxtapose with the softness of wide wale corduroy at the collar. The “Heavy” also includes patterned elements of bandanna, cowhide, and woven material panels. The former, a Concepts-exclusive, approximates the famous guitar straps employed by festival performers.

Air Jordan 11 Low • 72-10

May 24, 2022 | Category: Ward 1 Sneakers

Air Jordan 11 Low • 72-10

Let’s cut to the chase – the embroidered tongue tag says it all: “Inspired by the most historic season led by the greatest player ever.”

Which player? The Jumpman. Which season? The one where MJ won 72 games and a title wearing the Air Jordan 11. That season, vanquishing opponents in patent leather luxury became his deal on the court. Off the court, he could just as easily step into rooms and make moves in the shiny, exotic car-inspired sneaker. With a Black patent leather and tumbled leather upper working like a dynastic duo, the “72-10” Air Jordan 11 Low pays homage to that magical year in premium style.

Air Jordan 5 • Raging Bull 2021

The beloved Air Jordan 5 Raging Bull is making a return this year. Without a doubt one of the best non-OG colorways of Michael Jordan’s 5th signature shoe, the Red suede Air Jordan 5 originally released alongside the “3M” pair as part of the Air Jordan 5 Raging Bulls Pack aka the Air Jordan 5 Toro Bravo Pack back in 2009.

The eye-catching Air Jordan 5 gets covered in a Varsity Red suede all over the upper with Black accents hitting the eyelets, inner liner, the Jumpman on the tongues and heels, and the midsole. Silver reflective 3M tongues, “23” embroidered ankles, white and red shark teeth on the midsole, and an icy blue translucent outsole with a red Jumpman wrap things up. Official images show that the model will also come with special packaging that mimics that of the original release.

Air Jordan 6 • Midnight Navy

A colorway that’s been in the vault for over 20 years is coming back strong this spring. Keeping to OG specs, the Air Jordan 6 “Midnight Navy,” first released as a retro in 2000, is colorblocked in a familiar fashion for fans of the AJ6. A clean all-White premium leather upper allows for a crisp juxtaposition with Midnight Navy accents on the midsole, embroidered Jumpman, heel piece, and tongue. Its icy, translucent outsole finishes the style with a cool edge.

Air Jordan 9 • Chile Red

Air Jordan 9 • Chile Red

MJ had to switch it up from the court to the diamond when the Air Jordan 9 hit shelves in 1993, but the Tinker Hatfield-designed style still brought the heat with a high-top shape and a unique mixed materials mudguard and upper. Here, Jordan Brand brings back the heat in a “Chile Red” makeup — no extra sauce needed for this all-Chile Red quilted stitched upper, patent leather mudguard, and shiny midsole. Spicy enough to stand alone, this heritage-inspired AJ9 colorway proves that the game will never really end.

Air Jordan 1 Rebellionaire

Air Jordan 1 Rebellionaire

In September 1985, Nike and MJ launched the Air Jordan 1. A month later, they were “banned” by the league. Although the AJ1 is a sports and streetwear icon now, back when the sneakers debuted, they were highly disruptive and instantly revolutionary. While the league may have tried to stop MJ from lacing up in the original AJ1, they couldn’t do anything to temper the fans, so “They Can’t Stop You From Wearing Them” became a defiant rallying cry. Now, the spirit of the sneaker is brought to life through the ‘Rebellionaire’ Air Jordan 1, which features that same not-so-subtle reminder printed all over the style’s upper, and includes a Red “X” mark on the heel to commemorate the birth of the banned legend.

Air Max 1 Blueprint

Air Max 1 Blueprint

This Nike Air Max 1 is a blueprint-themed iteration of the model that is a nod to the silhouette’s worldwide appeal. Constructed out of mesh and leather, the sneaker opts for a White, Dark Marina Blue, and Dutch Blue color scheme. Standout details include a grid-like pattern on the tongue tags as well as on the mismatched Swooshes. Elsewhere you will find globe graphics on the heels and insoles as well as laces that feature Air Max Day, “3.26”, atop an icy translucent outsole.

Air Jordan 3 Muslin

Air Jordan 3 Muslin

Throughout MJ’s dynasty run, fans and teammates counted on his durability. His six championships, delivered in heroic fashion, were epitomized by toughness, strength, and physical fortitude. Bringing that same attitude to a beloved retro, the Air Jordan 3 “Muslin” uses a heavy-duty canvas upper and strong Cement Grey suede to welcome everyday challenges with rugged style. Its Sail midsole finishes the vintage-inspired makeup, while University Red accents shout-out Air Jordan heritage.

Introducing the Concepts x Nike Air Max SP “Mellow”

To celebrate 35 years of a sneaker icon, we give the Air Max 1 a radical twist. When the Nike Air Max 1 arrived in 1987, it signaled a revolution in footwear design. Air, its namesake, was fully-unleashed — made visible through a window — and with this shifted aesthetic and technical boundaries. 35 years later, Concepts brings its own radical twist to the classic silhouette. If the original firmly shouted a futurist vision, our take on Air Max 1 positions the shoe within a radical lineage of youthful expression.

Air Jordan 1 Marina Blue

Air Jordan 1 • Dark Marina Blue

The Air Jordan 1 returns in 2022 with OG color-blocking and heritage styling, but adds a new color to its historical lineage: Dark Marina Blue. While the world-famous Air Jordan 1 stance and shape remain the same, this beloved retro makeup features a new flavor. On top of a White midsole, Black smooth leather underlays create a premium surface for Dark Marina Blue leather overlays, eyestays, and signature Swoosh. A classic debossed Air Jordan Wings logo clipped to the collar finishes off a new fan favorite.

Nike Air Max 90 DQM •  Bacon

Nike Air Max 90 DQM • Bacon

The DQM x Nike Air Max 90 is the stuff of legends. Originally released in 2004 as a limited-edition collaboration, the shoe drew inspiration from Dave Ortiz’ butcher shop-themed boutique, with bacon as the main course.

The early 2000s were a very different time for the sneaker world than what we are experiencing today. Then, Nike was the undisputed king of footwear, leading the way with silhouettes like the SB Dunk, the all-new Nike Kobe line, and of course, Air Max silhouettes. In 2004, the brand teamed up with New York City’s DQM (Dave’s Quality Meats) boutique for an exclusive release of the fan-favorite Air Max 90. Taking inspiration from DQM’s butcher shop theme, the “Bacon” Air Max 90 displays an array of colors that immediately evoke the idea of tasty breakfast meat. Both light and dark shades of brown, red, and a splash of pink make up the legendary DQM x Nike Air Max 90.

The legendary 2004 Air Max 90 release from New York City boutique Dave’s Quality Meats and Nike is a fan-favorite Air Max, and will likely be limited, releasing from both Nike and select high-level retailers for $140+.
