On Oct. 26, 1984, Chicago Bulls rookie Michael Jordan made his NBA debut against the Washington Bullets.
The No. 3 overall pick in the 1984 draft didn’t put up legendary numbers in his first game, but he did put up solid numbers in his debut. Although he made only five of his 16 shots from the field, Jordan finished the game with 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
Chicago beat Washington, 109-93.
Jordan went on to win the NBA Rookie of the Year award by averaging 28.2 points, 5.9 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 2.4 steals in his first season in the league.
Of course, that was just the start of things to come. Jordan made 14 All-Star teams, won five NBA Most Valuable Player awards and led the Bulls to six championships, winning the NBA Finals MVP award in all six.
